Si Quili

Si Qiuli, born in 1968 in Beijing, China; is a professional artist, consultant of the Overseas Chinese Artists Association, founder of the Beijing Dadi Art Center and the initiator of the  “Make Contribution for World Peace” event.

As a professional painter and innovator of contemporary ceramic art, he as made an indelible mark in the international art world. Having traveled the world, he has not only expressed western abstract art concepts on poreclain plates through his innovation of ceramic artistry, but also combined techniques to aestically merge both special shaped ceramic scultures with the texures typically found in the creation of porcelain plate painting. Some of the innovative techniques and materials used by Quili Si in the process of creation of porcelain plates, such as shaping, pile carving, painting, and other molding methods, ultimately present unique artistic states for which he has become recognized as a leader in the art form.

His most notable artwork titled “Benevolence” received widespread international attention in 2018, at the Jingdezhen International Ceramic Fair. In 2019, “Benevolence” was permanently collected by the Vatican City Museum in Rome. So beloved was this artwork that in 2022, the Vatican Museum issued a commemorative coin with it’s ingraved image. To recognize this great honor, Quili Si was invited to meet the Pope of the Catholic Church at the Vatican, where it was covered by hundreds of international media outlets.

In 2022, the Jingdezhen government commissioned he and four other notable artists to create a large porcelain art panel titled “Scenic Beauty of the Land.” This masterpiece served as a symbolic gesture to usher in a new era, and was permanently installed in the Great Hall of the People.
